Derrick Henry personally delivered Alabama’s second Heisman to the school in conjunction with the Crimson Tide’s spring game.

Each year, the Heisman trust creates a duplicate of the individual player’s award and gifts it to the school. Saturday, Henry lifted the new trophy above his head while the Bryant-Denny Stadium crowd saluted him.

In addition, Henry was cemented as a permanent team captain for Alabama.

Henry also talked to NFL.com about winning the Heisman.

I think you can’t worry about [the pressures of being a Heisman Trophy winner]. You control your own destiny. You go out there and work hard and show people that you come to work and earn your respect. All you can control is how you go out there and perform every day.
When my name was called [as the Heisman Trophy winner], just a dream come true. I wanted to cry, but I was so nervous I couldn’t. Just something I always dreamed of as a kid and something I’ll cherish the rest of my life.

Urban Meyer says whoever is Ohio State’s quarterback needs to be a Heisman candidate.

“The message was very clear to our team, and if you’re going to play quarterback at Ohio State, you need to be a Heisman candidate,” Meyer said after Ohio State’s spring game.
“So I don’t need phone calls — “Well, my son should be able to play” — No, no. If you play quarterback at Ohio State in this offense, you have to be a Heisman candidate, or we’re going to suffer.”

Could Tim Tebow go from Heisman winner to U.S. Congressman? He wouldn’t be the first Heisman winner to dabble in politics.
