Video: Davey O’Brien’s last football game

Davey O’Brien, TCU’s 1938 Heisman winner, was born on this day in 1917.

To commemorate his birthday, here’s a video that shows highlights of his last football game in the NFL. O’Brien, who was the fourth overall pick of the 1939 NFL draft, played for the Philadelphia Eagles for two seasons before retiring to become an FBI agent.

The 5-7, 151-pound O’Brien is shown here as #8, playing for the Eagles in 1940.
