Video: Ron Dayne breaks the NCAA career rushing record
One way to win the Heisman is to break a long-standing NCAA record.
As it turns out, the NCAA career rushing record that Wisconsin’s Ron Dayne broke in 1999 was set just one year earlier by Ricky Williams, the 1998 Heisman winner. Dayne’s total has since been surpassed by San Diego State’s Donnell Pumphrey.
Here is video of Dayne rushing for 31 yards against Iowa to surpass Williams on November 13, 1999.
