Video: Eric Crouch’s amazing 95-yard TD run against Missouri
The heyday of the option quarterback was in the 1970s and 1980s, but it wasn’t until 2001 that one of them managed to win the Heisman Trophy.
That was the year Eric Crouch masterfully executed Nebraska’s I-bone to near perfection, leading the Cornhuskers to an 11-1 record and a berth in the BCS title game. He is the last quarterback to win the Heisman while being utilized primarily as a running threat in an option offense.
In the above video, Crouch displays his open-field skills, uncorking one of the greatest runs in Heisman history, a 95-yarder against Missouri.
